What's this?

More than 20 years ago, I obtained a copy of Teach Yourself Esperanto. I don't no why. Call it a whim. Anyway, for all of that time it has sat on my bookshelves being more or less ignored. For no good reason that I can think of, I picked it up a little while ago and decided to have a go at learning it. Can it really be as easy as I've heard suggested? The only way to learn a language that I know of is to practice, hence this blog. I'll be trying to write short posts in esperanto as a way of using what I've learned.

It's anonymous because I'm slightly embarrassed about trying this out. Mindful that learning la Lingvo internacia might well be social and professional suicide, I'll keep it quiet for the time being. Should being la lernanto bring me fame and fortune, I'll reconsider. :)
